Buyers in Ordering Mood+++Düsseldorf Shoe Fairs continue their Upward Trend

Full and busy stands, satisfied exhibitors and visitors in an ordering mood was the picture at Düsseldorf’s shoe fair trio GDS/GLS and global shoes & accessories. From Friday to Sunday (14 to 16 September) 1,392 exhibitors (including 280 new and returning exhibitors) from 45 countries presented their shoe and bag collections for the 2008 Spring/Summer season. With around 33,500 trade buyers (51% from abroad) from over 80 countries the three fairs closed at the previous year’s level though it was clear throughout that GDS/GLS and global shoes & accessories is continuing its upward trend started in the previous seasons and that the trade fair and business location of Düsseldorf is as indispensable to the shoe and leather goods industries as ever. China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), estabished in 1988, comprises 1,300 members. As a national organization, CLIA serves for the whole China leather industry. The CLIA specializing in fur and leather processing, footwear, leather garment, handbag, leather products and chemicals as well as related institutions, research institutes and colleges. As a bridge or link between the government and the enterprises, CLIA has to accomplish the work entrusted by the government, implement the government’s policies and decrees, as well as promote the development of the leather industry.
